You can search for old books. Books published before 1923 are public domain. Search by topic and by year. Search by keywords (golf, how to, etc.). here are some resources:
Here are some good examples of using old public domain books:
Scan with OCR (optical Character Recognition), re-publish the book (or just copy the pages - put in a binder). Add your own material. Put your copyright notice. Make other formats (PDF, teleclass, audio, video, CD, DVD, eClass (via email), etc.)

1. Anything published in the US before 1923 – this goes for anything published here in the US or something published abroad and then republished in the US before 1923
2. Works first published in the US from 1923 – 1963 are in the public domain if they were not renewed in their 28th year. Estimates are 85% of works were not renewed.
3. Foreign works published anywhere before 1909 are in the public domain.
4. Foreign works published 1909 – 1923 with copyright notices are now in the public domain.
